Watch as Sean Cox meets his Liverpool heroes in an emotional moment at Anfield Stadium

Sean Cox met his Liverpool heroes last Sunday as he was greeted by Kop stars during his Anfield visit.

In new footage released by the club, The Dunboyne man is seen hugging captain Jordan Henderson as well as defenders Trent Alexander-Arnold and Joe Gomez after their 3-1 victory over title rivals Manchester City.

And as well as meeting Reds legend Ian Rush in Anfield, Sean was over the moon as some of the club's top stars came over to greet him.

In a video released on the club's Youtube channel, Sean is seen hugging captain Jordan Henderson as well as defenders Trent Alexander-Arnold and Joe Gomez.

Mr Cox was left with serious brain injuries when he was attacked outside Anfield prior to the Reds' Champions League semi-final against Roma in April 2018.

He was invited by Liverpool CEO Peter Moore back to Anfield with his family for his first visit to Merseyside since that life-changing attack.

Sean has needed extensive rehabilitation since the assault over 18 months ago and requires ongoing care from his wife and family.

Images of Sean shown on the big screen during the game and sparked a rousing ovation from both sets of fans.

Sean also met manager Jurgen Klopp as well as Reds legend Ian Rush during the visit.

Liverpool's all-time leading goalscorer Rush posed for a photo with a smiling Cox and said meeting the dad of three was the highlight of his day.
