Watch as Rangers loanee scores again for Birmingham in record-breaking result

Rangers midfielder Kieran Dowell scored on loan for Birmingham City again in a record-breaking result for the club.

The Ibrox ace was on the scoresheet in the thumping 4-0 victory over Mansfield in League One in England.

Birmingham broke the points total record after the win, achieving 105 points with two matches remaining in the league season. The previous record was 103 points.

Dowell netted the third goal of the league rout as he headed home expertly from the centre of the box.

Paik Seung-ho crossed from the left flank to find Dowell unmarked in the area where he powered home beyond Christy Pym.

Keshi Anderson opened the scoring after 24 minutes before Willum Thor Willumsson doubled the lead six minutes before half time.

Dowell's header came in the 50th minute before ex-Celtic midfielder Tomoki Iwata ended the scoring on 57 minutes.

The 27-year-old has one year left on his contract at Rangers and is set to return to Ibrox in the summer at the end of his loan deal. Birmingham, though, could make a permanent transfer move with manager Chris Davies vocal in his admiration for Dowell.

"He’s definitely someone I have been really encouraged by since he’s come in and from my point of view, I want players like that here," Davies told BirminghamLive.
