Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers delivered one of the finest throws of his Hall of Fame career on Monday night against the Detroit Lions.
In desperate need of a big play, Rodgers found a way to deliver an improbable score, hitting receiver Allen Lazard for a 35-yard touchdown despite smothering coverage from Lions cornerback Justin Coleman down the far sideline.
The ball was perfectly thrown, right over Lazard’s shoulders and into his waiting hands inside the 5-yard line. The catch was the first for Lazard this season.
The score brought the Packers to within two points of the Lions in the fourth quarter.
According to Next Gen Stats, the completion was the most improbable of the season for Rodgers. It was calculated to have a completion probability of just 18.7 percent.
