Warriors rookie Eric Paschall flashes skill set in pickup run

As the NBA offseason trudges into August, it’s that time of year where videos from some of the yearly Black Ops Basketball summer pick-up games have started to be posted on social media.

Golden State Warriors rookie Eric Paschall played in one of the latest pickup games and displayed a diverse skill set. Players such as Trae Young and Donovan Mitchell also have participated in the runs, flaunting their skills to hoop fans eager for the NBA season to return.

An athletic forward, Paschall showed he’s more than capable of putting the ball on the floor and driving to the hoop. But he also showcased his shooting skills, knocking down spot-up jumpers and shots off the dribble.

The Warriors selected Paschall with the No. 41 overall pick in this year’s draft, and they signed him to a three-year, fully guaranteed deal in July.

With the Warriors bringing on Paschall, a versatile player out of Villanova, they could have a young Draymond Green on their hands.

Paschall said in July he found being compared to Green “flattering,” but he acknowledged he still has more to work on. If Paschall can use his quality handles, along with his athleticism and defensive prowess, he should turn out to be a player similar to Green.

During three seasons with the Wildcats, Paschall averaged 11.4 points per game on 48.7% shooting, along with 5.1 rebounds a game. Last season Paschall had his best year — 16.5 points and 6.1 rebounds per game.
