Warning for dog owners as pet pup dies after being poisoned at Cathkin Braes

A warning has been issued for Rutherglen and Cambuslang dog owners after a beautiful pet pup sadly died after having been poisoned at Cathkin Braes.

There has reportedly been a number of dogs poisoned in the popular walking spot in recent weeks.

Pet sitting group  The Dog Sitters Club  said they were heartbroken to reveal the wonderful Toffee had passed away, as they urged owners to ensure dogs don't eat food they find in parks.

A post shared on Facebook said: "Today is a sad day. I woke up to the news of Toffee's passing. The most loving, sweetest and happiest girl I knew. Slightly bonkers in the best way, always up for adventure and kept me on my toes.

"Sadly toffee was poisoned at Cathkin Braes and fought for her life.

"Please, please be careful. Do not let your dog's eat food they find in a park, field and don't let random people give your dog's snacks.

"There has been many cases of dogs being poisoned and horses standing on nails at the braes over the last few weeks.

"Spread the word, if you know of someone who walks there, a dog walker or take your horses.

"Please let them know. Love you Toffee."
