Warning for dog owners after rat poison found in Glasgow's Victoria Park

A west end woman is warning pet owners to be on their guard after she came across a pile of rat poison in a Glasgow park.

Claire Connelly was walking in Victoria Park earlier today when she noticed her dog Millie was sniffing something in the grass.

After looking down and realising the pooch had discovered a haul of lethal pellets, quick-thinking Claire rushed her beloved furry wee friend to the vet.

Thankfully, Millie hadn't ingested any of the poison and is fit and well tonight - but Claire is keen to spread the word to stop anyone else falling foul of the deadly stash.

She says the area where they made their grim discovery was near to the main grassy patch, close to the second gate after the main entrance.

Claire added: "Luckily she didn't eat any of it but taking her to the vet to get checked just to be safe! Notified the park staff and they confirmed it was rat poison but had not been put there by them."
