This seemed like the right week to bring out a memorable walleye caught from the Kankakee River this fall.
Bob Johnson of Frankfort caught it Nov. 29 on a swimbait and noted, “[G]etting this on the Kankakee River made it that much sweeter.”
He also sent the photo of the clean release below, another sort of sweetness.

It seemed like a good week to run this FOTW, with the passing of Ed Mullady on Sunday. Click here for the obit on Mullady.
FOTW, the celebration of big fish and their stories (the stories matter, as this one shows) around Chicago fishing, runs Wednesdays in the paper Sun-Times. The online posting here at https://chicago.suntimes.com/outdoors goes up at varied days of the week, depending on what is going on the wide world of the outdoors.
