After weeks of extreme conditions, from heatwaves to thunderstorms, autumn is finally on its way to Wales. As we move into September, the summer - and all which came with it - will become a distant memory. But after a summer where temperature records were broken, what does the weather look like for September?
As it stands, the Met Office has only published detailed local forecasts for the next few days - after five days, the projections are UK wide. 'Another generally dry and bright day' is predicted for tomorrow (September 1), while initial warm and sunny spells on Friday (September 2) will likely give way to a few sharp afternoon showers.
The weather will become increasingly unsettled over the weekend' with spells of rain, heavy and possibly thundery in places, predicts the Met Office. Further detail can be seen below.

As for how the rest of September looks, a spokesperson for the Met Office has said: "Looking further ahead it’s only possible to look at broad UK trends, but there’s a continued chance of some more persistent rain for Wales than in recent times, with some strong winds also possible.
"Later in September, although temperatures are likely to be above average for most, western areas of Wales are more likely to see more rain, while eastern areas will be drier, although it’s not possible to determine the details as yet."
