Wales to face South Africa in Twickenham double-header this summer

Wales will face South Africa at Twickenham in June in a double-header, which will also see the Barbarians take on Fiji.

Warren Gatland wants his side to experience a top Test match at a neutral venue, so Twickenham will host a beefed-up schedule with the world champion Springboks coming to town on Saturday, June 22, 2024.

South Africa condemned New Zealand to a record 35-7 defeat at a sold-out Twickenham in August last year, before retaining the Webb Ellis Cup at the Rugby World Cup in France in October.

“We are thrilled to return to Twickenham in our first Test since the World Cup final,” said South Africa head coach Rassie Erasmus.

“We have very fond memories of the Test we played against the All Blacks at Twickenham last year.

“The atmosphere and occasion were truly remarkable, and we are expecting a very similar experience.”
