Wales’ official brass band, the Barry Horns, had their instruments confiscated by local authorities at the Alhan Bin Ali stadium before Wales’ World Cup match with Iran.
The band were unable to play and only let into the ground after leaving their trumpets behind.
Their attendance at the match, with instruments, had been organised by the FAW and sanctioned by FIFA.

Barry Horns founder Fez said: “Our attendance had taken a lot of preparation between the FAW and FIFA. We submitted photos and videos of our instruments, we sent all the paperwork, we went to the USA game with our instruments, but today they were confiscated.
“They also scanned our t-shirts, seemingly worried we were making a political statement.”
The Barry Horns are part of an official delegation of Welsh ambassadors who have traveled to Qatar.
Last week another ambassador Laura McAllister had her rainbow bucket hat confiscated at the same ground.
Band member Tomos Williams described how the band went through a number of discussions with a number of different members of security. Having received mixed messages the band were eventually told their instruments would not be let in the ground, despite the fact they had an official letter from FIFA to confirm their instruments had been approved for use in the ground.
He said: “It was devastating and stressful. I was absolutely gutted. To travel all this way to play and then not get let in.”
