Waitrose, Sainsbury's and Lidl are urgently recalling pies and protein powder

Several supermarkets and online retailers throughout the UK have removed a number of products from their shelves amid health and safety concerns.

The most recent recalls include products from Waitrose, Lidl, and Sainsbury's. Those who have purchased and currently have any of these items are advised not to use them and instead return them to the store where it was purchased for a full refund.

This is a list of the most recent items to be recalled:

Waitrose

Waitrose Thrive Fish Pie (Trading Standards UK)

Product name: Waitrose Thrive Fish Pie
Pack size: 250g
Best before date: March 2023

Reason for recall: Allergen risk - As a result of a packaging error some packs contain a beef lasagne with egg as an ingredient which is not declared on the label. This means the product is a possible health risk for anyone with an allergy or intolerance to egg.

Sainsbury’s

Naturya Hemp Protein Powder (Trading Standards UK)

Product name: Naturya Hemp Protein Powder
Pack size: 100g
Best before date: March 2024

Reason for recall: Nutrisure Ltd is recalling Naturya Hemp Protein Powder because it contains gluten, which is not mentioned on the label.

Best before date: 21 January 2022

Reason for recall: Salmonella has been found in the product.

Reason for recall: Risk of the rotating locking mechanism being able to be pushed open when in the locked position. This issue could lead to the seat being able to come unlocked and therefore rotate whilst in the locked position, which could be potentially dangerous in the event of a car crash.

Reason for recall: This product poses a serious chemical risk as one of the fidget toys (the peanut shell) contains an excess concentration of phthalates. A young child playing with the toy is exposed to the phthalates which can potentially harm a child's health either via cancer or non-cancer effects.

Reason for recall: The product presents a serious risk of injuries as when tested, the safety trainers did not pass the penetration resistance test. The tip of the nail test penetrated through the trainers when subjected to 500-800 N force, less than the permissible minimum of 1100 N. The physical failure of the trainer from impact or penetration can lead to potentially serious injuries to the foot or toe.
