Wagamama is opening a restaurant in Swansea

Wagamama is opening a restaurant in Swansea.

The Japanese chain is opening at City Gates at the corner of Wind Street and Victoria Road.

The brand new restaurant will be located at the site of the former Italian chain Frankie and Benny’s.

The chain is currently advertising for staff including general manager paying £34,000 to £40,000 a year and a line chef paying £9.60 an hour, with no previous kitchen experience necessary.

It is the fifth restaurant the chain will have in Wales.

The other Wagamama restaurants in Wales are located in MacArthur Glen Designer Outlet in Bridgend, Cardiff Bay, Cardiff Library and Friars Walk in Newport.

Swansea Council is spending £3 million on plans to turn the city into an all-day destination.

Wagamama is yet to confirm when the restaurant will open or other details about the plans.
