'Vulnerable' girl, 12, and her mum who vanished together could be in Liverpool

Police have launched an urgent appeal to trace a "vulnerable" girl who has gone missing with her mum.

Merseyside Police today released a picture of 12-year-old Ghania Haroual who they say has links to Liverpool.

They confirmed that she has vanished along with her mother Nana Kaffour.

People are urged to get in touch if they see her, describing her as a "vulnerable child".

Police say the family have Liverpool ties.

A Merseyside Police spokesman said: "We are concerned about the welfare and whereabouts of a vulnerable child, namely 12-year-old Ghania Haroual and her mother Nana Kaffour.

"The family have links to the Liverpool and London area."
