Sunderland fans say it is 'vital' that the club's ownership woes are resolved before the team starts its Championship campaign next season.
It was a brilliant end to the season for Sunderland, with promotion achieved and fans feeling optimistic. However, fans have also said in a survey that the ownership of the club must be sorted out as soon as possible.
Chronicle Live’s latest survey had 1394 respondents and 60.4 percent of them said it was “vital” that the ownership issue is resolved this summer, while 26.7 percent said it was “very important”, and 8.6 percent said it was “quite important”. Only 4.2 percent said it was “not important at all”.

There are currently four shareholders at Sunderland. Two of them, Stewart Donald and Charlie Methven, have said they want to sell up and have received bids and are now waiting for the process to run its course.
The other two shareholders are Juan Sartori and Kyril Louis-Dreyfus. The latter is currently chairman of the club.
This week it was confirmed that Donald and Methven, who have a combined 39 percent stake in the club, have been in discussions to sell to a cryptocurrency group called The Fans Together. Methven also released a statement saying acceptable offers have been received from two groups and the timing is down to the bidders.
Also in the survey, 71.1 percent said they would like Louis-Dreyfus to have full ownership of Sunderland, while 24.2 percent were unsure. A whopping 95.8 percent thought Donald and Methven should sell their shares this summer.
Fans were also asked in the survey what the biggest disappointment of the season had been. The survey revealed that 31.5 percent felt it was “lack of shareholding transparency”.
