Virtual Grand National winner, placings and all the results

It's the day when even the most casual of horse racing punter becomes engrossed in the action at Aintree.

Unfortunately, the real Grand National didn't take place due to the COVID-19 pandemic but that doesn't mean lovers of the big one were left wanting.

ITV produced a CGI alternative to fill the void but did your horse come out on top?

Gordon Elliot's majestic Tiger Roll is eyeing a hat-trick and was the pre-race favourite at 5/1 despite a recent set back at Cheltenham.

But was it a day to celebrate for the Meath's favourite son?

Here's all you need to know as the big race provided plenty of drama for punters to savour.

Jockey Davy Russell celebrates after winning his second successive Grand National on Tiger Roll (PA)

Rag Trade, Aldaniti and Many Clouds all fell early on, while Silver Birch refused on the fourth fence.

Talkischeap led the field as they crossed Beecher's Brook for the first time but faded in the long stretch between fences 12 and 13.

Top Ville Ben came on strong during the second circuit but the real shock came in the final lengths as Aso took the lead.

He fell heartbreakingly two fences from home though and it was Potter's corner, an 18/1 shot, who took the virtual Grand National.

Virtual Grand National results:

1) Potter's Corner 18/1

2) Walk in the mill 16/1

3) Any Second Now 10/1

4) Tiger Roll 5/1

5) Burrow's Saint 12/1
