Authorities attempting to put an end to the number of people being devoured by crocodiles near a busy river have installed bizarre warning signs.
The hungry reptiles have killed three in the Kali River in Dandeli, India, so far in 2022.
In an attempt to put an end to the horror, the local authority has decided against removing the beasts and instead installed new signs warning of the dangers.
The boards will tell visitors to avoid feeding the crocs, not to take their children near the water’s edge and to avoid swimming altogether.
The New Indian Express reported an official from Haliyal Forest Division saying: “Besides tourists, several devotees come to Kali river to offer prayers.
"Be it final rites, or rituals involving immersion while visiting a temple that is along the Kali river, many times they risk their lives by going too close to the water or sometimes they even step inside the river for a short distance without knowing the current and threat of crocodiles.
"The boards will alert the people about possible crocodile presence in the area.”
Experts say the recent attacks by the crocs have come as a result of recent work on the river which has partially destroyed their natural habitat.
Earlier this week a man was rushed to hospital after having his arm bitten off by two crocodiles as he washed his hand in a zoo pool without realising it was the beasts' enclosure.

Ilham, 49, had dropped off local tourists when he suffered a flat tire and dirtied his hands changing the wheel at the Sinka Zoo West Kalimantan Province, Indonesia, on June 9.
With oil on his palms, Ilham reached into a nearby pool to rinse off the dirt.
However, he screamed in pain when a crocodile leapt from the water and sank its teeth into his elbow.
A second beast then appeared and latched onto his arm.

He battled the 16ft long behemoths and eventually broke free - but only because they bit off his arm.
Shocked tourist Mohammed Fery, who had been in the car with Ilham, said: "The victim was the driver who took me on a tour. He wanted to wash his hands in the pool, but we didn't know that there were crocodiles in the pool.
"I had suggested that he wash his hands in the toilet. But instead, he jumped over the fence and washed his hands in the pool.
"We didn't even know that there were crocodiles in the pond. We didn't see any notice boards or warnings, the pond looked like an empty pond."
