After Odell Beckham Jr. was traded to the Browns, Cleveland bolstered its one-two punch at receiver with him and Jarvis Landry.
In Gil Brandt’s list of top-11 receiving duos in the league, those two rank first.
In second place was the Vikings’ dynamic duo of Adam Thielen and Stefon Diggs.
Here’s what Brandt wrote about the two:
For the first time since Randy Moss and Cris Carter in 2000, two Vikings receivers recorded 1,000-plus receiving yards in the same season. Thielen got off to a quick start with new QB Kirk Cousins, becoming the first player in NFL history to begin a season with eight straight games of 100-plus receiving yards. He finished with a team-record nine such games. Diggs, meanwhile, tied a franchise mark of his own, matching Carter (1994) by recording eight games with eight-plus receptions.
Thielen and Diggs combined for 215 catches for more than 2,300 yards and 18 touchdowns last season. And unfortunately for the rest of the league, it’d probably be a surprise if they weren’t better in 2019 with another year of familiarity with Kirk Cousins.
