Vikings offensive line gets bottom-tier ranking from PFF

Despite a tendency to run the ball, Minnesota actually had a pretty high-octane offense.

Quarterback Kirk Cousins was able to find wide receivers Justin Jefferson and Adam Thielen all over the field. Running back Dalvin Cook had a career year.

That might suggest that the Vikings offensive line gave Cousins time to throw the ball and gave Cook huge holes to run through.

According to PFF, however, that wasn’t consistently the case, The outlet ranked Minnesota the 26th best offensive line this year. Here’s what it said about the Vikings:

“The offensive line has been an issue for multiple years now in Minnesota, and it remains one following a 2020 season where they graded out as the 28th-best pass-blocking offensive line in the NFL. Once again, it was the interior of the offensive line where most of the issues popped up.”

With how Dakota Dozier played this year, Minnesota needs to upgrade its left guard spot, but I thought right guard Ezra Cleveland played pretty well at times. Now that he has a season under his belt, Cleveland could become less boom-or-bust and maybe put it all together on the interior of the offensive line.
