Vikings CB Jeff Gladney indicted by grand jury on felony assault charge

A grand jury indicted Vikings cornerback Jeff Gladney on an assault felony charge Tuesday, stemming from an alleged incident involving his then-girlfriend in April of this year.

Gladney is being indicted for domestic violence assault. If convicted, he faces 2-10 years in prison. Gladney is also being sued by the victim for at least $1 million in damages.

Gladney is accused of hitting and choking the victim. He is also accused of dragging her by the hair, with her outside his vehicle, when he was driving. In July, the woman’s lawsuit claimed Gladney showed up at her home, forcing her to delete threads of text messages and screenshots of text messages.

A first-round pick in 2020, Gladney has been absent from all Vikings-related offseason activities amid the ongoing case. A trial date has yet to be set.
