Viking set to host Titans for joint practices in August

Prior to their preseason Week 2 contest in Minneapolis, the Tennessee Titans and Minnesota Vikings will hold joint practices, the two teams confirmed on Tuesday.

The Titans and Vikings will hold a pair of joint sessions, with the dates yet to be determined. However, we do know the two teams face off on August 19, so the practices will be in the days leading up to that.

“I know both coach (Mike) Vrabel and (Cardinals) coach Jonathan Gannon, both of those guys I have personal relationships with, and I know what kind of leaders they are, and I know what kind of teams they’ll be bringing here,” O’Connell said. “To be able to have that is a critical, critical part of our training camp formula.”

Tennessee is expected to hold joint practices with two teams on their preseason schedule, with one coming in Nashville.

The Titans’ lone preseason home game comes against the New England Patriots, and the two sides have already reportedly discussed holding practices together, although that hasn’t been made official yet.

The Titans will open their exhibition slate on Saturday, August 12 versus the Chicago Bears, with the matchups against the Vikings and Patriots in the weeks that follow. The regular season will begin on September 10.
