Vietjet makes the breakthrough decision to upgrade its standing order of 42 A320neo aircraft to the larger, more universally capable A321neo, demonstrating to the regional airline industry that it will continue on its spectacular rise and successes.

Vietjet’s integration of the newest A321neo marks the first time the aircraft is available to passengers in Southeast Asia. This defines the airline’s direction as a truly new-age operator, bringing high quality flight services to an ever broader low-cost market.
Showing off the very latest in engine design, advanced aerodynamics, and cabin innovations, the A321neo under Vietjet will bring much greater efficiency to this operator which already prides itself on achieving some of the best efficiency numbers in the business – as well as reducing costs, showing its strong commitment to sustainability and Green operations. The new GTF engines alone cut fuel expenses across the fleet and reduce noise by 75 per cent. It expects emissions will fall by 50%, even without the huge additional benefits of supreme aerodynamics.
Passengers will thoroughly enjoy flying on the larger airplanes with more spacious and top-of-the-line cabin designs. They offer a unique passenger proposition; improved comfort at very competitive flight ticket prices. Fitted out with 230 comfortable leather seats and high-quality carpeting, the first five rows of Vietjet’s spacious new A321neo have been especially designed to accommodate passengers flying SkyBoss, the airline’s premium service. The aircraft’s interior also features a unique color-changing LED light system and striking décor to create a comfortable and refreshing ambience throughout the entire cabin.

The introduction of the A320neo aircraft has added a lot to Vietjet’s first-rate operation performance with the airline’s technical reliability rate standing at 99.6 per cent in 2017. This aircraft family has also helped the Vietnamese operator get ahead of all rivals by leveraging some of the lowest operating costs in the airline world.
Nguyen Thi Phuong Thao, president and CEO of Vietjet firmly believes the upgraded A321neo deal emphasizes Vietjet's continued efforts to operate one of the world’s most modern fleets of aircraft. The company is highly committed to bringing maximum comfort, pleasure and safety to its valued passengers.

Vietjet impressively received 12 aircraft only in December 2017, increasing the total aircraft receiving in 2017 to 17, and the total fleet to 55. It also has 73 A321neo and 11 A321ceo planes from Airbus as well as around 100 737Max200 planes from Boeing on order for future delivery and this fact alone shows a revolutionary approach to deploying quality throughout every touchpoint of fleet operations. This latest market movement is a huge step in growing swathes of newly launched direct routes to popular and highly destinations around the wider Asia region.
Vietjet has very much laid down the challenge to other airlines, and in doing so, is quickly becoming one of the most popular, enjoyable and affordable ways to travel for people across South-east Asia.

The rapidly expanding new-age carrier Vietjet has become the first airline in Southeast Asia to take delivery of an Airbus A321neo (new engine option). The A321neo, registered as VN-646, is powered by Pratt & Whitney’s latest-generation GTF engines, and will bring the stunning design, comfort and efficiency of A321neo to Vietjet customers in Asia-Pacific.
