If your favorite team has already been eliminated from the NBA playoffs, or if you’re simply sick of seeing the Golden State Warriors win year after year, you should probably be rooting for the Portland Trail Blazers.
The Trail Blazers upset the Denver Nuggets on the road to advance to the Western Conference Finals for the first time since the 1999-2000 season, and Portland will head to Oracle Arena for Game 1 against the Kevin Durant-less Warriors on Tuesday night (9:00 p.m. ET, ESPN). If Damian Lillard isn’t reason enough to get behind the Blazers, the Curry vs. Curry storyline is just another reason to root for the underdog.
