Kuwait’s military has confirmed that “several” U.S. fighter jets have crashed over the country.
Video footage widely shared on social media shows a plane falling to the ground in flames. CNN analysis of the video suggested it was an F-15E twin-engine fighter jet.
The incident came amid ongoing air strikes against Iran by the U.S. and Israel that have seen the Islamic Republic pounded in an attempt to decapitate its leadership, with Donald Trump telling Fox News on Sunday (1 March) that 48 of the country’s top leaders had been killed.
Kuwait’s Ministry of Defense said all crew survived and the collision is now under investigation.
“Relevant authorities immediately initiated search and rescue procedures, whereby the crews were evacuated and transferred to the hospital to check on their health status and provide the necessary medical care, noting that their condition is stable,” the statement added.
