Video appears to show disgruntled employee starting giant warehouse blaze in California

A person appeared to film themselves starting a giant warehouse blaze in California, igniting toilet paper as they said, "All you had to do was pay us enough to live".

Approximately 175 firefighters attended the fire which destroyed the 1.2 million square foot Kimberly-Clark distribution facility in Ontario on Tuesday (07 April). No one was injured in the incident.

The suspect, Chamel Abdulkarim, was arrested at the scene and charged with multiple arson-related felonies, Ontario Police said. The 29-year-old Highland resident is an employee of NFI industries, a third party distribution company for Kimberly-Clark products.

A spokesperson for Kimberly-Clark said, “The building is leased by Kimberly-Clark and operated by NFI Industries. There were no Kimberly-Clark employees onsite at the time of the fire.”

NFI Industries refused to comment while a criminal investigation is active.
