Vicky McClure heads back to Notts after wrapping up filming for new ITV drama Trigger Point

Vicky McClure is heading back to Nottinghamshire after wrapping up filming for upcoming ITV drama 'Trigger Point'.

The Wollaton-born actress has been in the capital for much of the last five months filming the new show which follows a bomb disposal team.

She will play Lana Washington - a member of the Metropolitan Police Bomb Disposal Squad - and star opposite Adrian Lester (playing Joel Nutkins).

The pair work with each other as close pair who formerly served in Afghanistan together.

In a post on Instagram, Vicky said it was a "surreal" feeling to have wrapped up filming for the show. In many scenes, the actress appears to be wearing heavy-duty police equipment.

She said: "It’s late, in the car heading home to Notts. Started ‘Trigger Point’ back in May in London, a huge gig in front of me, six explosive episodes and now I’m wrapped!

"Surreal feeling. Pretty exhausted… there was a fair bit of running, but my heart is full of love for the crew and cast I’ve just spent the last 5 months with.

"When ya see it on the telly, take a look at the credits. Everyone grafted so hard and brought their immense talents every day! Beyond grateful to you all.

"Gonna miss seeing everyone every day, won’t miss the running so much!

"I hope you all enjoy Trigger Point when it’s out (that I don’t know yet).

"I’ve learnt a lot, laughed a lot & have the utmost respect for Bomb Disposal operatives."

A release date for the ITV show is yet to be announced.
