Vic ride-share driver to admit rape charge

Ride-share driver Sharjeel Mirza will plead guilty to three sex assault charges involving two women. (AAP)

A ride-share driver has admitted raping a woman and sexually assaulting another in Melbourne.

Sharjeel Mirza, 38, was due to face a pre-trial hearing in Melbourne Magistrates Court on Tuesday.

But his lawyer Lucien Richter said the case, which dates back to mid-2019, had resolved.

Mirza will plead guilty to three charges involving two women.

The first complainant was raped and sexually assaulted in Melbourne on March 10, 2019.

The second was sexually assaulted in Coburg on July 12.

Mirza will face a pre-sentence hearing in the Victorian County Court on August 5.
