A 40-year-old man has been shot dead in Melbourne's southwest and three people are assisting homicide detectives with their investigations.
Emergency services were called to an Oakleigh South address following reports about an injured man at about 3am on Sunday.
Paramedics treated the Footscray man for a suspected gunshot wound but he died at the scene.
Two men, aged 31 and 49, and a 34-year-old woman who were all home at the time of the incident are assisting police with their enquiries.
Police also cordoned off a nearby vehicle as part of a secondary crime scene.
