Viaplay Cup announce return to fixture traditions as Final offers chance of early Hampden present

The draw for the group stage of next season's Viaplay Cup has been set with teams set to find out their opponents on June 8.

And an early Christmas present on offer for the competition's winner with the date of the final annonced. The draw will be shown live on Viaplay at 1pm, with the first round of fixtures taking place on the weekend of July 15/16 After the World Cup impacted the current campaign, the tournament will revert back to the pre-Christmas final date as the first piece of silverware will be won on December 17.

Celtic won this season's trophy, beating Old Firm rivals Rangers 2-1 in the February final with an Alfredo Morelos goal coming too late after a Kyogo brace. Kilmarnock and Aberdeen were knocked out in the semi-finals. The winners of the eight groups will advance to the next round along with the three best runners-up at the Scottish clubs competing in Europe, for the knock-out stages.
