Vernon Kay has bid an emotional farewell to a BBC Radio 2 star who has decided to leave the station following an “illustrious career”.
Speaking on Thursday (4 June), the 52-year-old paid tribute to Bob Harris, 80, who is stepping back from his time in broadcasting after more than 50 years due to ill health.
“Bob is one of those people that you sit next to and you just listen,” Kay said, adding that he “absolutely loves rocking up at BBC Radio 2 because Bob's there”.
“We're all a little bit emotional today because he's stepping back,” he explained, as he sent Harris his love and well-wishes.
