Vera Pauw forced into one change to her Ireland squad for US trip

Birmingham City's Lucy Quinn has been added to the Republic of Ireland's two friendlies with USA after Lily Agg was forced to withdraw from the squad through injury.

Midfielder Quinn, 29, was included in the 27-strong squad for the two-game trip after Agg sustained an ankle injury while on club duty with the London City Lionesses.

Vera Pauw's squad had a recovery session this morning ahead of flying to the States.

Having been on crutches after suffering an ankle injury in Arsenal's Champions League win over Bayern Munich in midweek, Ireland skipper Katie McCabe proved her fitness by playing 80 minutes for her club against Manchester City on Sunday - and scoring a brilliant winner.

Ireland's fixtures against the world's top ranked side will take place on Saturday (7.30pm Irish time) and Wednesday (12.30am Irish time).

The games are a big part of Pauw's preparations for the Women's World Cup, with Ireland kicking off the finals against hosts Australia in Sydney on July 20.
