Venues NSW confirms Knights v Tigers game OK to proceed

PAROCHIAL: Knights fans

VENUES NSW has confirmed the NRL match between the Newcastle Knights and Wests Tigers can proceed as scheduled at McDonald Jones Stadium on Saturday.

The stadium was attended by a fan at last Sunday's A-League clash between the Jets and Western United who has since tested positive for COVID-19.

The stadium has been undergoing a full clean and a crowd of between 7000 and 8000 Knights members is expected to attend.

"In accordance with our COVID-19 safety plan, the venue has been thoroughly cleaned and looks forward to hosting the Newcastle Knights and Wests Tigers on Saturday night," Venues NSW acting CEO Joe Achmar said in a statement.

"Patrons are reminded they must stay home if they're unwell or display any symptoms and get tested."
