Vegetarian livid after friends prank her into eating meat - then blame her for it

A man has been slammed for tricking his vegetarian friend into trying a chicken dish - then telling her she was at fault for not smelling the meat.

The cruel prank, as it has been dubbed online, evidently upset the diner. Yet, her supposed friend showed no remorse. Instead, he blamed her for falling for the trick, as she explained in a post to Reddit.

Writing on the website's 'Am I the A*****e" forum, the vegetarian woman shared what happened in the hope of receiving friendship advice. She outlined how the argument destroyed her relationship with her tormentor and divided their friendship group.

Reportedly, the prank occurred back in 2019, when the diner was enjoying food out with friends.

When the starters arrived, she asked if the dish was vegetarian or not, and for reasons unknown, two of the group, who both eat meat, lied, telling her, it was vegetarian, when it contained chicken.

"I was p**** and wanted to leave but they said I was causing a scene and I some how managed to spend some time with them before I left."

In the years since, she's avoided the male friend responsible. While one of the pranksters apologised, he 'doubled down and said its my fault for not smelling chicken,' she claimed.

Unfortunately, her other friends have not been very understanding as the years progressed and want her to move on, so the friends can all spend time together again. But the vegetarian pal is not willing to.

"I didn't actually swallow it because as soon as I put it in my mouth, I knew it was chicken so I spit it out. So their point is you didn't even eat it and it was long ago and I should have moved on by now," she explained. "But for me it was that they broke off my trust and I just don't wanna meet him period."

In response, commenters were quick to condemn the pranksters and reassure the diner her feelings are valid.

"You don't have to be around people you don't want to regardless of being pranked by then. Dude sounds like a real tool. I don't blame you," read one reply.

A second agreed: "Anyone that tricks a person into consuming anything against their own life's policy is an a*****."
