Vauxhall Motors aiming to continue unbeaten run when they face Litherland REMYCA

Following Vauxhall Motors’ draw at home to Longridge on Saturday afternoon, Mick McGraa’s side are back in action this Wednesday night as they travel to Litherland Remyca.

Remyca are currently placed 17th and have amassed a total of six points from seven games with wins against Ashton and Longridge in their last three outings. This comes after finishing 20th last campaign.

The Reds play at Litherland Sports Park and were founded in 1959 as St Thomas. Their name, which came in 2013, reflects links with the REM social club and the Bootle YMCA as this became the club’s base.

The highest record attendance at The Sports Park is 1,303 which was recorded in 2017 and City Of Liverpool were the winners of this game.

Remyca’s manager is Colin MacDonald as he was appointed last September. Chairman Dom Rimmer complimented MacDonald’s leadership abilities “Colin has good leadership qualities as well as being Remy to the core. He’s an experienced footballing man who’s tactically aware”.

The Remy’s last three honours include winning the Fred Mickelson Trophy in 2009, Liverpool County Premier Division Two in 2007 and the I Zingari League Division Two in 2006 as they finished runners up of the NWCFL First Division in 2018.

Litherland’s key players are Johnny Foy and James Murphy. Foy has netted four times in his six appearances this campaign and Murphy has netted twice from his three appearances thus the Motors backline will be kept busy despite the hosts arguably slow start.

Adult tickets for the upcoming game are priced at £5 with concession tickets costing £3. All support for Mick McGraa’s side is welcome thus we look forward to seeing you down at The Litherland Sports Park.
