Vauxhall Astra set on fire outside Ayr flats as police probe blaze

Cops are appealing for information after a car was set on fire in Ayr on Friday night.

The Vauxhall Astra was set alight around 11.35pm outside flats in the town's Sannox View.

No one was injured and the fire is being treated as wilful.

Detective constable, Scott Patterson, of Ayr police station said: “Since this fire was reported on Friday evening, we have been carrying out enquiries to trace whoever is responsible for setting this car on fire.

“This is a busy residential area and I would urge those who may have seen someone acting suspiciously, or anyone who was in the area of Sannox View with CCTV or dash-cam footage to contact us.

"Anyone with information should contact officers through 101 quoting reference 4415 of 4 June.

"Alternatively, Crimestoppers can be contacted on 0800 555 111, where anonymity can be maintained.”
