Varian becomes Bohs' fifth summer signing while Mustaki leaves Shels for Bristol City

Bohemians have made a fifth signing of the summer with under-21 Ireland international Ethon Varian joining the Phibsboro club.

Varian, 20, has joined the Gypsies from Stoke City, having spent last season on loan with Raith Rovers.

“I am delighted to bring Ethon to the club," said Bohs boss Keith Long, after adding the Corkman to the new additions list that also includes John O'Sullivan, Ryan Burke, Declan McDaid and Josh Kerr.

“He is a player whose progress we have been monitoring at Stoke City and over the course of last season while he was on loan with Raith Rovers in the Scottish Championship.

“Ethon is a player with a brilliant work ethic, who will bring a different dimension to our forward line.”

Varian is part of the Bohs squad travelling today to Germany ahead of tomorrow's friendly against Union Berlin.

Meanwhile, Ireland international Chloe Mustaki has joined Bristol City from Shelbourne, her second spell in England having previously been with Charlton.

Mustaki, 26, made her Ireland debut in February, having overcome serious injury and illness to make her comeback in the game.

Shels also lost Jessica Ziu to West Ham and Saoirse Noonan to Durham in recent months.
