Varanasi: VVSS chief seeks ban on disclosing Gyanvapi premises survey details

VARANASI: Chief of Vishwa Vedic Sanatan Sangh (VVSS), Jitender Singh Visen, on Friday gave an application to the district magistrate, demanding complete ban on publicizing and disclosure of photography and video content of Gyanvapi in the interest of national security and communal harmony.

The photography and videography of the Gyanvapi mosque premises was conducted by a court-appointed commission between May 6 and 16. The photographs and video content along with the report of the advocate commissioner were submitted to the court.

In his application, Visen said that as the matter is apparently serious and concerns the national security and communal harmony of India, disclosing or publicizing it on any platform could result against the national security and communal harmony.

He further said that anti-national powers can use it to provoke the religious sentiments of both communities concerned with the matter and utilize it as a tool to harm national security and communal harmony.

He requested all necessary steps and action to limit the content of photography and video to the court proceedings and assurance that it should not be disclosed at any public platform.

He further requested that if anyone being found involved in it then it is expedient to prosecute and punish such wrongdoer under the National Security Act and other appropriate penal provisions.
