A van driver was arrested after leading police on a high speed chase through residential streets.
Merseyside Police arrested a 34-year-old man on suspicion of dangerous driving, after police were led on a chase through Woolton. Officers received reports of a crash involving a silver Peugeot 308 and a white van on Allerton Road at around 10.40am on Thursday, June 16.
After the crash the driver of the white van drove off. After a short pursuit officers stopped the van on Macket's Lane. The driver, was described as "selfish" by Merseyside Police's Road Policing Unit on Twitter.

The 34-year-old was arrested on suspicion of eight offences including dangerous driving, driving whilst disqualified, driving without insurance, unlawfully taking a motor vehicle, failing to stop at the scene, failing to stop for police, drug driving offences and concern in supplying class A drugs.
CCTV footage of the incident shows a white van driving down a residential Woolton street pursued by a police vehicle. The footage later captured the van turning blindly onto a main road.
Merseyside Police confirmed a man in his 60s received hospital treatment for minor injuries.
