'Van Dijk has Chambers’ posters' - Arsenal fans mock Liverpool after Newcastle open the scoring

Newcastle took a shock lead in their Premier League fixture against Liverpool on Saturday lunch time.

Coming into the game as heavy underdogs against the current league leaders, Steve Bruce's side opened the scoring through summer signing Jetro Willems.

Picking up the ball outside the area, the left-back cut inside onto his right foot before unleashing an unstoppable shot into the top corner past Adrian.

Newcastle have already beaten Tottenham away this season and not many would have given them a sniff against Liverpool at Anfield.

The European champions were unbeaten at home all of last season, and Jurgen Klopp would have expected an easy afternoon's work for his side ahead of the Champions League trip to Napoli next week.

Sadio Mane equalised for the Reds, but Liverpool's failure to keep a clean sheet at home to Newcastle saw plenty of fans posting on social media with tongues firmly in cheek.

One Arsenal supporter wrote: 'Don’t forget we kept a clean sheet against Newcastle away. Liverpool are at home.' Another posted: 'Imagine not keeping a clean sheet against Newcastle. Couldn’t be my team.'
