Uttar Pradesh: Police remove illegal plotting on Mukhtar Ansari's aide's Rs 60 crore land

VARANASI: As part of an ongoing drive against the economic empire of jailed mafia don Mukhtar Ansari and his gang members, the district administration and police removed illegal plotting from five acre land worth Rs 60 crore and also razed the house of a shooter in Mau on Monday.

Mau SP Sushil Ghule said, “Two major actions have been initiated against Mukhtar’s close aide Ganesh Dutt Mishra and his sharpshooter Anuj Kanojia. The boundary walls created after plotting on five acre land worth Rs 60 crore by Mishra in Bhujauti area have been removed. A house constructed by Kanojia with illegally earned money on the land of government pond has also been demolished on the report of Azamgarh police.”

On the order of Mau DM Arun Kumar, the SP formed a joint team under city magistrate Tribhuvan and CO City. This team reached the Bhujauti area with bulldozers. After razing the newly constructed entrance gate of the colony being developed by Mishra, the boundary walls of plots were also demolished.

The city magistrate said, "Mukhtar’s close aide Mishra had purchased land in the name of Priti Worksheet Infra Developers Private Limited with illegally earned money. Without fulfilling the norms of developing colonies in the regulated area, Mishra had started plotting for sale. After the matter came to the knowledge of the district administration, the DM ordered demolition after a probe. Further investigation in the land deal of Mishra is still continuing."

Another action was taken at Navapur-Bahlolpur area under Chiraiyyakot police station of Mau district where the joint team of district administration and police demolished a house constructed on the land of a government pond by Anuj Kanojia with his illegally earned money.

SP Azamgarh Anurag Arya said, "Kanojia is a sharpshooter of Mukhtar gang and carries a cash reward of Rs 50,000. He is on police radar in several criminal cases, including a case of Gangster Act. Kanojia, a native of Tarva area in Azamgarh, had constructed a house on pond land recently.”

Arya said that during a police investigation, this property of Kanojia had come to light after which a report was sent to DM Mau. Taking note of this report, DM Mau issued the order after which Kanojia’s house was razed.

Before these actions in Mau, a plot in the name of Mukhtar’s mother had also been attached by the officials in Mahua Bagh area of Ghazipur district on Sunday. Mukhtar, who avoided contesting assembly polls this time despite winning Mau Sadar assembly seat since 1996, his family and gang members are in the line of fire, especially since June 2020 when a series of actions to destroy their economic empire had been intensified from Mau.

Apart from bulldozing buildings, seizure of movable and immovable properties, the police targeted the illegal earnings of this gang earned through extortion and fish trades, grabbing contracts in PWD and other government departments.
