Uttar Pradesh: Mukhtar Ansari's aide’s properties worth Rs 4cr seized in Lucknow, Ghazipur

VARANASI: Jailed mafia don Mukhtar Ansari’s trusted lieutenant Bhim Singh’s immovable properties in Ghazipur and Lucknow worth Rs 4 crore were attached by the Ghazipur police under the Gangster Act on Monday.

Leading the team of the district administration and police, Ghazipur SP Rohan P Botre reached Bavedi area of the district on Monday morning. Under his supervision, the Kotwali cops completed the formality of attachment of a plot.

The Ghazipur SP said, “Following the order of district magistrate issued under the Gangster Act, one plot purchased by a close associate of Mukhtar Ansari and gangster Bhim Singh of Ramnathpur Karanda area with illegally earned money in Bavedi area has been attached.”

“Other teams of Ghazipur police were sent to Lucknow to attach a luxurious 4BHK flat and a plot in a posh locality,” he said adding, “Market price of all three properties is Rs 4 crore.”

He said that this action was part of an ongoing drive against organised gang and gangsters.

As per police records, Bhim Singh has 35 cases lodged against him. The cases were lodged against him between 1988 and 2017. He was also booked under Goonda Act and Gangster Act.
