BULANDSHAHR: A man allegedly strangled his wife to death in a village in Khurja town of Uttar Pradesh's Bulandshahr, police said on Monday.
The incident took place in Wajidpur village on Sunday night.
After allegedly killing his wife, Hashim, the accused, locked her in a room and her body was recovered by the police on Monday morning, Senior Superintendent of Police Santosh Kumar Singh said.
According to the deceased's sister Zeenat Khan, Hashim had allegedly beaten up the victim a few days ago and the entire episode was recorded by her on a mobile phone.
On the basis of a complaint lodged by Khan, a case was registered against the accused under relevant sections of the IPC and efforts were underway to nab him, the SSP said.
