PRAYAGRAJ: A man has been accused of killing his younger sister at Poore Ramchandra Ka Purva village under the limits of Jethwara police station of Pratapgarh district late on Sunday night. The deceased, identified as Gudia alias Kalindi Shukla (21),was a resident of Poore Ramchandra Ka Purva and was living with her parents.
The accused is the real brother of slain girl and has been identified as Dheeraj alias Dharmendra Shukla. He was taken into custody for quizzing after the incident. Police said a detailed investigation was underway to find the exact reason behind the killing.
Initial investigations revealed that the slain girl and her elder brother were at loggerheads over a dispute regarding a mobile phone and the brother allegedly shot her dead with an illegal weapon.
Police have been trying to find out as to how the accused had accessed the illegal weapon. The mother of the slain girl has lodged an FIR with Jethwara police station against her son regarding the incident. The body has been sent for post-mortem.
