PRAYAGRAJ: On the occasion of International Yoga Day, a two-day free health check-up camp was organized by the Department of Community Medicine of United Institute of Medical Sciences (UIMS), Rawatpur, Prayagraj. Around 250 patients attended the camp that concluded on Wednesday.
The camp was organized at Shaikh Sarwa Village in Bamrauli and Rehi Miya Ka Purwa village in Karchana, Naini by Urban health training centre (UHTC) and Rural Health Training Centre (RHTC).
RHTC in-charge Dr Anuj Singh informed that the patients including men, women and children who attended the camp in these two days were told about the importance of Yoga in life and its immense health benefits.
The patients were suggested to practice Surya Namaskar, Pranayam, Anulom-Vilom etc to remain fit and healthy, he added.
UHTC in-charge Dr Nitin Kumar Singh said that the patients diagnosed with health problems like seasonal flu, Diabetes, hypertension, weakness, malnutrition and other illnesses were given prescriptions and medicines. On this occasion, a session on practicing yoga was organized at United Medicity and UIMS under the guidance of yoga experts Parmanand Kushwaha and Rahul Yadav and Aparna Pandey. Medical students, doctors and faculty participated in the programme.
