Uttar Pradesh: BJP workers celebrate after President Droupadi Murmu takes oath

LUCKNOW/PRAYAGRAJ: After Droupadi Murmu took oath of office, members of the Baharatiya Janata Party's Scheduled Tribes Morcha celebrated the occasion at the party's Lucknow headquarters on Monday.

Tribal artists gave dance and music presentation and moved on the streets with tricolour in their hands. President of the Morcha Sanjay Gond said Murmu's taking over as the President was a moment of pride for the entire tribal society.

In Prayagraj, BJP activists have decided to distribute around 5,000 portraits of Droupadi Murmu in city’s slums, trans-Ganga, trans-Yamuna and tribal dominated areas.

The party leadership wants to deliver the message across the region wherever there is a considerable population of SCs, STs, that the party’s top priority was the welfare of the poor, down trodden and tribals. The district BJP unit including party’s SC/ST morchas have started distributing the portrait of Droupadi Murmu in identified pockets mostly in the slums and tribal-dominated areas in the district once Murmu’s swearing-in ceremony was over.
