  • Anticipated talks between the United States and Iran , also involving Qatar and Pakistan, were abruptly postponed at the 11th hour on Friday.

  • The proposed deal aims to end the war on all fronts and reopen the Strait of Hormuz , paving the way for 60 days of talks on Iran’s nuclear programme and sanctions.
  • Continued fighting in Lebanon, including Israeli strikes killing 18 people and four Israeli soldiers, threatens the fragile agreement, while Donald Trump described the deal as Iran's 'unconditional surrender'.
