The 2021 US PGA Championship is set to get underway on Thursday as a host of golf's biggest names look set for a tilt at the second major of the year.
Rory McIlroy leads the Irish hopes this week in South Carolina after his win at Wells Fargo earlier this week, while Shane Lowry and Padraig Harrington will also be in action.
And in his latest Irish Mirror column, Gary Murphy fancies Jordan Spieth return to his brilliant best at Kiawah Island.
He said: "After a worrying dip in form and almost slipping outside the top-100 in February, Spieth, whose last major success was at the 2017 Open at Royal Birkdale, is back in form.
"Five top fives (or seven top-10s, take your pick) in his last nine outings has seen the three-time major winner climb to 26th in the rankings.
"His recent surge included a stellar win at the Valero Texas Open and a third place at Augusta, despite his putting ranking a lowly 50th of the 54 who made the cut.
"Spieth’s game is in a really good place at the moment and psychologically, he has also regained the kind of aura and presence that cranks up the pressure on others.
"Listen, I’m probably biased because Spieth is my favourite current player, but I can’t help admiring a guy who brings an X-Factor when he’s in the mix down the straight."
