Urgent hunt for man after serious 'domestic incident' as police search buildings in woods

Police have launched an urgent appeal to find a 65-year-old man after a 'serious domestic incident'.

Gwent Police say they would like to speak to Anthony Manson, also known as Tony and Antonio, following the incident in the Welsh village of Tintern.

The force say the man may be able to assist their enquiries. The victim is safe and has received support from specially trained officers.

A police statement said officers had been in the Tintern area since the early hours of Monday morning to perform a search in a wooded area, as they continued efforts to locate Mr Manson.

Specially trained firearms officers also attended the area as a precaution to ensure the public's safety.

Anthony is described as of slim build with a grey beard, and is believed to have a Cano Corso dog with him.

Chief Superintendent Ian Roberts said: "Our officers have been in the Tintern area since the early hours of this morning, Monday 12 June, to search a buildings in a wooded area and carry out enquiries to find Anthony.

"Specially trained firearms officers attended as a precaution to ensure the safety of everyone.

"Officers will remain in the Tintern area as the investigation progresses so please do not be alarmed. If you have any concerns or information then please stop and talk with us."
