Urgent appeal to find owners of cat left behind on Dumbarton train

The Scottish SPCA has issued an urgent appeal after a cat was found on the Drumry to Balloch train earlier today.

Scotland’s animal welfare charity was alerted to the incident after the cat was removed from the train at Dumbarton Central when it arrived at 12.07pm.

The cat is now in the care of the society’s centre in Milton.

Assistant manager of the centre, Kim Mackrell, said “The cat was found in a blue carrier.

“Someone may have unintentionally left the feline behind. She was found tucked underneath a seat.

“There is no way of telling how long she was left for. We are just thankful that she was found.

“We are keen to trace the owner as soon as possible. If anyone recognises her, please contact our confidential animal helpline on 03000 999 999.”
