A masseur accused of sexually touching and assaulting his clients on the NSW South Coast will face a trial.
Mark Anthony John Horsfall was arrested at a Gerringong massage parlour in March last year following a police investigation into reports of sexual misconduct.
Police told Wollongong Local Court the 61-year-old worked for cash at the parlour and did not have a license.
In court today Mr Horsfall was committed to stand trial on 33 sexual offences allegedly committed against seven women between November 2020 and March 2021.
The offences include 13 counts of sexual intercourse without consent allegedly committed against one woman during a three-hour period in Gerringong.
The Culburra Beach resident was initially denied bail but was eventually granted bail in October on the condition that he stay with his daughter in Bligh Park.
His daughter was also required to accompany him anytime he left the house.
Mr Horsfall was prohibited from travelling to the Illawarra and Shoalhaven except for court or legal appointments.
Defence lawyer Matt Kwan told the court the condition was onerous on his client's daughter and requested a bail amendment to allow Mr Horsfall to attend emergency medical appointments unaccompanied.
Director of Public Prosecutions lawyer Lachlan McGonigal argued against the application on the grounds that there was a chance one of the complainants might see him.
"One of the complainants lives in the area and the risk of her seeing him cannot be mitigated by the conditions being changed," he said.
Mr Kwan described it as a "preposterous submission" as his client did not live in the same suburb as the complainant and said he would only be travelling to his doctor in Windsor.
The bail amendment was granted.
Mr Horsfall will be arraigned in March.
