Universal Credit, PIP, ESA and all other DWP benefit rises coming in 2023

People who claim benefits such as Universal Credit will see a rise in their payments next year - but how much more cash will claimants receive?

Here is a round-up of all the benefits and what people can expect to get in 2023. This comes after chancellor Jeremy Hunt announced in his Autumn Statement that the State Pension and all benefits would rise by 10.1% in April.

Following growing concerns over the triple lock being set aside for a second year when calculating the pension rise, he did confirm it would be honoured, reports Birmingham Live. He told MPs: "There have also been some representations to keep the uplift to working age and disability benefits below the level of inflation given the financial constraints we face. But that would not be consistent with our commitment to protect the most vulnerable so today I also commit to uprate such benefits by inflation with an increase of 10.1%.

"That is an expensive commitment costing £11b. But it means 10 million working-age families will see a much-needed increase next year. On average, a family on Universal Credit will benefit next year by around £600. And to increase the number of households who can benefit from this decision I will also exceptionally increase the benefit cap with inflation next year."

So what does the inflation-based rise mean for benefit payments? Here is a look at how every benefit will change when the rise comes into effect, which is likely to be from April 10 next year.
